IP Trunking service is a Session Initiation Protocol (SIP)-based trunk from theservice provider to an IP private branch exchange (PBX) or key system,delivering voice, multimedia and data traffic. The service provider providesbasic connectivity, emergency services, dial-plan management and operatorservices. Local and long-distance call connections are completed by the serviceprovider.

A managed IP Trunking service includes the IP termination service andfeatures a PBX with a gateway, an integrated access device (IAD) or an IP PBX.
